conceptual and abstract
The sculptures and studies seen here are a grouping of other worldly food, plants and animals that led to a deeper examination of artificial environments that we humans create in our own living spaces.
The investigation resulted in my masters thesis document and exhibition entitled Fauxtopia, a contained environment that appears as a projection on a circular screen when viewed from the outside, but is actually an explosive, 3-d, transparent, plastic wilderness on the inside.
representational
This collection of work illustrates my classical training in clay sculpture. I have included a wire armature, the clay figurine and the final metal casting.
I created the skeletal figure in an Ecorche course I took with master sculptor Jason Arkles.
