commemorative art

celebrating our founders

I created two site specific, bronze sculptures to honor the monks who founded the science and art departments at our school. Their hands were molded in alginate to create the waxes for the castings that I poured at the School of Visual Philosophy foundry in San Jose under the guidance of Yori Seeger.

The sculptures were installed a few days before the ground breaking ceremony of our fabulous new LaureL STREAM center.

senior tile project

The images below are of two of the many staircases on campus that are covered with tiles featuring the words and or images of each graduating student. The students hand paint these during their last few weeks of school.

The decision to use hardy outdoor ceramic tiles and installing them on the staircases insures that their memories are cemented into our foundation. I began this project in 2004.
